Blue House Books
A Field Guide to Postwar Murals
by Lynn Pearson
(Blue House Books, December 2008) is the first ever book
on these British artworks. Featuring superb colour photography,
this handy 80-page guide to British mural art and where
to find it is now
available for only
£10.95 plus postage. The fully illustrated book explores
the fantastic and little-known world of postwar mural art. The
fifties and sixties were times of experimentation with new
materials and forms, the meeting of art and architecture in a
colourful outburst of exciting works which carried on into the
1970s and 1980s. Murals are for everyone, and this is an
essential guide. NOW AVAILABLE FOR £1.49 in an
iPad/iPhone version!

Blue House Books is a small publishing house
set up in 2008 and based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The name comes
from the nearby Blue House roundabout on the Great
North Road. The Blue House (from the former colour of its
paintwork) stands on a corner of Newcastle's Town Moor, a large area
of common land. For many years horse races were held on the
Moor, and the Blue House is close to the final turn on the
course, just east of the site of the old grandstand.
